Hello !
I'am trying to set a T7410 sensor with TSensor but when I click on "Connect", I have an error message "Sensor connection failed".
I can set the device with the Windows hyperterminal without problem.
Have you got a solution ?
Material:
T7410
connection between PC and sensor: converter USB -> dual RS232 jack, then converter RS232 connector -> RS485 connector, then RS485 connector -> T7410 sensor
Windows XP v5.1
TSensor configuration data: Serial RS485, Com Port: COM1, Address: 1, Baudrate: 9600.
Best Regards,
Benito.

Hello, it is hard to tell where the problem might be. Could you answer these questions, please?
Which communication protocol is configured in your T7410 sensor? Is it Modbus, Advantech Adam, Amit Arion or HWG Poseidon?
What types of converters have you got and how have you adjusted them? It means: switching control, handshake, parity mode, data bits, stop bits etc.? In your case, communication in TSensor software will be set like this: COM=1, Baudrate=9600, Address=1, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit.
How is your T7410 sensor powered? Is it powered from the interface (port) directly? Or from the external power supply? Sometimes, powering from the interface (port) may cause problems, the voltage signal may be too weak. In this case, using the external power supply is much better.

Hello Radim !
I provide next informations:
Communication protocol in Modbus.
Communication settings: COM=1, baudrate= 9600, address= 1, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit.
Tsensor is powered by battery (9V) or external power supply (12V), but without improving.

Benito.

Hello Benito,
did you use the latest TSensor program version (3.0.4.0)?

Hello Benito,
You said you had tried to set the T7410 sensor with the Windows hyperterminal. Please try to press the key '0' when your Windows hyperterminal displays main menu. Some protocol info will be displayed. It contains the real adjustment for communication with your T7410 sensor. Unit address and baud rate (and COM port number, of course) must match the values that you enter into the TSensor program.
If it still does not work, it may be (and most probably is) some problem with the converter. The TSensor program may not support all the converters (which may be a problem with the handshake, DTR&RTS signals, etc.). What type of converter(s) do you use? Could you try this with another type of converter? Certainly, it would be best to run it with the converter which we offer for these purposes.
Best regards,
Radim

Hello !
Problem was resolved by a converter change. I use a simple RS232 -> RS485 adapatator. Now Tsensor program can communicate with the probe.

Benito.
