Re: Have problem

Hi Castle,

Was settings successful written to the Lan Adapter (no errors occured)? If the answer is yes, try to check mechanical connection between LanAdapter and Logger. Otherwise try to connect other logger there. What is the result?

Re: Have problem

Well, problem really can be between LanAdapter and Logger. But I need more occurate information then you send me - first info (screenshots) was great by contrast.

I need know:

1) Were the Lan Adapter settings successful written to the Lan Adapter (no errors occurred)?
   - Here I expecting settings were successful written but could you tell me right state?

2) Check mechanical connection between LanAdapter and Logger. It means, disconnect cable from Logger and connect it again - do connection on it from logger face site. Then try communicate with logger by the software (eg. go to logger configuration: press "Device configuration" button on the toolbar).
If dosn't work go to next step.

3) Check communication settings in software. Go to main menu, select "File" and "Options". You need have selected "Select port manually" option. If don't, select it and configure list of ports. All window confirm you by OK button. Then try to connect to the logger again.
If dosn't work go to next step.

4) If communication settings is OK then try to exchange logger please and connect to the new logger by software (if you other logger have). Does it work right?

5) Do you have other cable for logger connection with computer? (I mean, USB adapter or COM adapter). If you have, try connect logger by this cable. Don't forget change communication settings in the software.

Re: Have problem

Hi Castel,

thanks for your answers, but I'm nonplussed of them.
If you have a problem with LanAdapter communication, point 1), you wrote, I don't understand you can see LanAdapter settings (you sent me a screenshot http://www.jecl.com.tw/pro1.jpg).
I ask you, run command line, write "telnet 10.91.12.197 9999" and send me what happen (screenshot will be great) please.

Thanks for your patience

Have a nice day

Re: Have problem

Hi Castle,

thanks a lot for screenshots. Now I know, you can communicate with LanAdapter and set it.
I thing you have hardware communication problem with logger.
You wrote you can connect to the logger by other Adapter (eg. COM,USB) -- this means, logger works right -- and you can connect to the other logger by LanAdapter -- this means, LanAdapter works right --. It looks like internal hardware problem with infra-red diode -- there exists no 100% compatible connection, but 99% only -- it's no fault but feature.

You may exchange adapter (LanAd-->other LanAd) or exchange loggers (logger-->other logger) if you have another LanAdapter and logger.

Example: Let you have 2 LanAdpaters (LanAd1 and LanAd2) and 2 loggers (Logger1 and Logger2). You have communication problem with LanAd1 and Logger1. Exchange Logger1 to Logger2 (connection between LanAd1 and Logger2) and try communicate it. Exchange LanAd1 to LanAd2 (connection between LanAd2 and Logger1) and try communicate it. If both communication works right, there is probably internal hardware communication problem with infra-red diode between LanAd1 and Logger1.

Have a nice day

Re: Have problem

Hello Mike
I have already tried to "Example:" you said.
I found the  problem with infra-red diode between LanAd1 and Logger1.
Please forward your comments how to resolve it.

Re: Have problem

Hi Castle,

you may exchange LanAdapter or Logger (it means to combine LanAd1 with Logger2,3,.. or Logger 1 with LanAd2,3,..) - use two devices which works, if you can. Otherwise we may send you new LanAdapter or logger -- in this case contact our trade office (Peter) first, please.

Have a nice day
