Problem with SMTP setup

I just received a Model H3531P and I want to send emails when there is an alarm. Can you provide some assistance with SMTP setup? I am trying to use smtp2go which I have been using for another logger with server port 2525. Will that port work with the Comet? Can you send emails to more than 3 recipients?

Hi,

We haven't experience with smtp2go service, from this reason I am not able confirm whether is compatible with H3531P device. H3531P devices does not support encryption for SMTP communication. It seems that that SMTP port 2525 at smtp2go can be used without encryption. But I am not able provide advice how need to be set smtp2go. But if you are using other Comet Web Sensors with smtp2go, H3531P should work by same way.

For investigation what is going on at your case we will need diagnostic file from the device (e.g. http://192.168.1.213/diag.log). At first step please setup SMTP at device and after that restart device (this will clear diagnostic counters). After that make attempt for a testing email and download diagnostic file. Please send this diagnostic file to support directly - support@cometsystem.com.

Hi Byron,

From diagnostic file it looks that you have DNS error during sending of email. Your device have set DHCP but your DNS server differ to gateway IP. This is slightly unusual. Please make sure that your DNS address is correct.
