Possibility to read an input register of P8511

Dear Sir,

When i was read the Holding register (register addr. start from 40000) of P8511 there were no problem at all, but when i tried to read the unit of the 1st channel on the input register (register addr. start from 39980) there was always error problem. Please inform me how to read the input register and to write it.

Re: Possibility to read an input register of P8511

Hi,

Answer to your question is little bit complicated. Modbus TCP implementation behaviour depends on firmware version in your device.

Old fimrware versions (4.5.1.22 or older):
- no registers below address 40000
- one TCP socket ModbusTCP server
- Modbus write supported for limits registers

New firmware versions (4-5-5.00 and later):
- new register range (see user guide at page 22)
- two TCP sockets for ModbusTCP requests
- no Modbus write is supported anymore

New firmware for older devices is available at webpages.

Re: Possibility to read an input register of P8511

Dear Admin,

Thanks for the respons. I can read already begin from the reg. Add. 40001. But, i've still a question about P8511. How can we changes the channel from temperature measurement into Relative Humidity measurement ? i tried from a web browser an have no problem at all, but if i want develop an application SW with Modbus TCP protocol what kind of command that should send to the sensor ? I really appreciate to know about the possibility to switch the kind of measurement by Modbus command. Thanks.

Hi,

P8511 haven't Modbus command for switching from temperature to relative humidity measurement. I think only reasonable way for you is channel unlock. Please contact your local distributor and ask her for channel unlocking.

Re: Possibility to read an input register of P8511

Dear Admin,

Last time in this forum you suggested me to ask to your local distributor in Indonesia about 'channel unlock' to enable P8511 switching the measurement between temperatur and RH. I had call the distributor and they asked me to send an email about my problem. So, I contacted them by email. First email was on Nov 19, 2013 and the second email was on Nov 22, 2013, but both got no reply at all from them. This make me confuse and really disappointed about the support of your distributor in Indonesia. I even send them the link of this forum to inform them that i did exactly as suggested by their Principal, but until now i have no answer from them.  Please help me to solve this problem, I really appreciate if you can contact them to support us as your customer in Indonesia.Thank you very much.

Re: Possibility to read an input register of P8511

Hi,

That is not really good that our Indonesia local distributor is not responding to your email. We must check what is going on with this distributor. Our goal is satisfied customers, what is not possible without fast and good technical support. We are sorry for this inconvenience with local distributor.

If your distributor not responding to your requests I can unlock from our side. I need serial number of your device. I must add this number into licence server. Then I will send more information to your email. Can I use email registered at this forum?

Dear Admin,
I hope you still remember me and my case last year 'Unlocking P8511'. The end of last year my company bought 6 more P8511 and i would like to ask you to help me 'to unlock' again..... this 6 new device. I really appreciate if you can do this, since we'll start to install the devices at the beginning of this year.
I will send the S/N and the current ROM file of the devices soon to you via email. Thanks Admin.
