Ip address problem

Hello,
I cannot set IP like 192.168.200.X/26. Sensor model is T3510 1.5.2.04 with Tsensor v 2.4.0.0.
Problem is after changing IP I cannot communicate with sensor. After changing at 192.168.1.X everything goes OK. Is there any solution for that or I do something wrong?

Re: Ip address problem

Hello,

From 192.168.200.X/26 CIDR notation your subnet mask is 255.255.255.192. If sensor work with IP 192.168.1.X then it cannot work with 192.168.200.X because this IP directs to different subnet.

If you tested that sensor work with IP 192.168.1.1/26, then IP adress range for current subnet (192.168.1.0) is from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.62.

I hope my advice is correct, because I'm not TCP/IP network expert.

Re: Ip address problem

Thx, but I've changed IP from default to 192.168.200.X/26 and it didn't work. After this I've used recovery IP procedure from amnual and changed IP to 192.168.1.X/26 and device started to work properly. So I thought that something goes wrong at the first time andI've changed again to 192.168.200 but device wasn't available again. So I'm wondering if there is any posibility to use 192.168.200.X addresses. I've made other tests with 192.168.200.X/24 and 192.168.200.X/24/26 and it doesn't work also.

Re: Ip address problem

Hello,

What particular number is X?

Please try 192.168.1.1 does it work? (I guess it works)
Please try 192.168.1.62 does it work? (I guess it works)
Please try 192.168.1.65 does it work? (I guess it doesn't work)

192.168.200.X also cannot work, because this IP address cannot work in current network (192.168.1.0)

it means any number from range int the subnet you chose

yes, it works.

yes, it works.

and, yes it works, but you have to change yours client ip smile

I do know how networking works.

Problem is when I've change third octet to 200 or to 100. when this number is 1 everything works. Is is clear what I mean?

I do know is also. It's pbvious that when I change sensor IP class I've got to change client IP.

sensor(192.168.1.1/26)<-->client(192.168.1.2/26) => sensor is available from client thru www and tsensor software
sensor(192.168.200.1/26)<-->client(192.168.200.2/26) => sensor IS NOT available from client

Re: Ip address problem

I'm sorry, now I see that you are most probably much better in networking! I had to read about what "/26 CIDR" on wikipedia :-)

I tested "sensor(192.168.200.1/26)<-->client(192.168.200.2/26)" and everything works for me here. So my help is only: Try it with cross cable (to be out of network security settings) and also check firewalls and antiviruses.
