Hello,
I need to make a SCADA system for a chemestry laboratory that uses two MS55D dataloggers. The SCADA will be made with SIEMENS WinCC so I need to read the data from the temperature sensors which are connected to the dataloggers via RS485 interface because these dataloggers don't have Ethernet interface. Could you please give the protocol so I can make a service with which I will be able to read this data?
Thank you!

Hi Andrei,
Yes, we can provide to you description of MS55D communication protocol. But implementation of this protocol into your software will not be easy. I think there is easiest and probably cheapest way. You can order Ethernet interface into MS55 and you can add it at your side. Via Ethernet you can use standard communication protocols like SNMP v1, Modbus TCP, XML or SOAP.
Please confirm me if you still need description of this protocol. Maybe reading current values via RS485 is not that hard as reading values from history memory. But Ethernet is much simplest way.

Yes, please provide me with the protocol. I would like to try this first and if this won't work I will take the other way with Ethernet.
Thank you!
